Overview:

Former President Jimmy Carter, former Secretary of State James Baker, and former national security advisors Zbigniew Brzezinski and Brent Scowcroft speak about America’s role in crafting peace between Israel and Palestine in Landrum Bolling’s newly released short film.

USIP will host a screening of this timely piece and follow it with a discussion among a first-rate panel of experts.  The panelists will discuss, among other issues, the perspectives of these former national leaders and possible future initiatives by the United States to move toward resolution of this long-standing conflict.  Following the panel discussion, the floor will be opened for public questions.

Speakers:

Dr. Ziad J. Asali, President, American Task Force on Palestine

Dr. Eliot A. Cohen, Johns Hopkins University (invited)

Toni G. Verstandig, Senior Policy Advisor, Center for Middle East Peace & Economic Cooperation

Samuel W. Lewis, Moderator, former U.S. ambassador to Israel
